Google Wave as a Simplified Basecamp?

I’m attempting to use Google Wave as a simplified Basecamp. It’s kind of complicated working with vendors on different projects and I figured it’d be a way to keep everyone connected while we’re not physically near each other. I realize it’s still in beta, but so was gmail for (well) years.

Do you think this will work? What are you using Google Wave for? Your thoughts?

I think Google Wave is an excellent place for collaboration, considering the use of individual waves and blips.

It’s not a bad idea to get started using it, but realize that Google is likely to change it in the near future.

I’m liking the idea more and more. The problem is I’m having issues uploading files…which almost defeats the purpose. Sure, it’s nicer than an email chain, but there are Twitter lists (which don’t require an additional log in).
